Aurora, IL (July 30, 2026) – Illinois State University student Jadyn Enas has been named a Nancy Larson Foundation Scholar and awarded a $1500 scholarship in recognition of her inspiring leadership, personal narrative, and academic achievement.
The Nancy Larson Foundation proudly supports students across the country majoring in elementary education by awarding scholarships to deserving students each year. Enas is one of seven recipients selected from the many applications received by the Foundation.
In her personal statement, Enas explained, “My relationship with school has always been unique because it didn’t come easily to me. I didn’t fall in love with learning until middle school, when my seventh-grade English teacher completely changed my perspective. She made learning fun and meaningful. I want to be that kind of teacher for someone else. I want to show them that even the tough subjects like phonics or math can be fun and rewarding. ”
“Jadyn’s desire to create an organized, fun, and meaningful classroom experience and help those who struggle are qualities that we look for in teachers,” explained Nancy Larson. “She has these qualities and we are happy to support her as she becomes an educator.”
Larson, an author, former teacher, and curriculum director, has dedicated her life to advancing elementary education. Nancy Larson® Science K–5 programs are classroom-tested and prepare children for upper-level science classes and careers in science. The program was written to provide in-depth science content in an easy-to-teach format.
